A toner is a fantastic little product that neutralises those tell-tale brassy yellow tones on bleached hair, leaving you with natural looking blonde hair colour. At Esente Hair Salon in Wimbledon we use the very highest quality toners to ensure that your hair colour looks sensational when you leave our salon. 

What Do Toners Do?

Contrary to popular belief, toners do not lift the shade of your hair, but they do work to alter the undertone of your hair colour. Toners are used on hair that has been lightened, or even naturally blonde hair. They do not work on dark hair. Toners can help to manipulate the shade of your blonde hair to make it look more ashy or cooler. We can even use toner to add fashion hair colours including pinks or blues or even silver hair tones. 

What Kinds of Toners Are There?

Once you have had your hair lightened at our Wimbledon hair salon, your colour expert will use an in-salon toner. Our toners are of the highest quality and are designed to minimise damage to coloured hair. Your Esente stylist will work with you using products which strengthen and repair damaged hair during the colouring process. 

Toners can be used all over your hair, or only in certain parts where you want to change the shade. For example, it can be used at the roots to blend hair colours, or used to tone down highlights. Be aware though - the more you wash your hair, the more frequently you'll have to tone it. 

What Can I Use at Home To Prolong My Blonde Hair Colour?

Can I Use Toner Instead of a Hair Colour Appointment?

You can book in for a toner service at our Wimbledon hair salon from 2-8 weeks after your hair colour service, which can prolong the length of time between hair colour appointments, especially with a low maintenance colour such as a balayage. 

You should not wash your hair directly after toning because the hair colour may slip out, and the less frequently you wash your hair, the longer your colour will stay fresh and radiant. We wouldn't recommend that you wash your hair every day as it strips out your natural oils and dries out your hair, which is not advisable when you have been bleaching your hair!
